The Hart High School Varsity Cheerleaders won first place at the 23rd annual United Spirit Association Cheer and Dance Nationals held March 7-9, at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The Hart team competed in the Large Varsity Show Cheer Advanced Division. This victory was the girl's sixth win this season. Other wins include,CIF State Championship at the Home Depot Center, Cheer Pros State Championship at California State University at Long Beach, and the California Cheerleading Championship at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The Hart varsity team finished their season undefeated.
The Hart Junior Varsity Cheerleaders also competed at USA Nationals. They qualified for finals and finished third in the Large JV Show Cheer Intermediate Division.
The JV team also won both of their regional competitions earlier in the year.
Along with practicing for competitions, cheering at football & basketball games and performing at rallies, the Hart girls managed to volunteer in the community.
In September 2007, the cheerleaders volunteered at a Special Olympic cycling event held at the Saugus Speedway. The girls cheered on the athletes as they competed in their races.
The Hart Cheerleaders and Spirit Club collected old cell phones to turn in to the Cell Phones for Soldiers organization. The phones are recycled and the money received is used to buy phone cards that are sent to U.S. troops overseas.
The girls were able to collect 140 cell phones. In January the girls created Valentine's Day cards for servicemen.
The cards were given to the Blue Star Moms , a support group in Santa Clarita. The cards were included in care packages that the Moms sent to troops stationed around the world.
They have already received one phone call from a soldier in Iraq thanking them for their cards.
The Hart cheerleaders have had an an extremely busy and successful season.
Not only are the Hart Cheerleaders winners in the high school competition circuit but they are winners for their community service.

We can only appreciate all their hard work. These girls prove that working together as a team pays off and the value of talented leadership is apparent. Thank you to coaches, parents, Mrs. Parra and Mr. Turner who support our girls!
