The
Santa Clarita Senior Center is offering several consumer lectures and services to the public during the month of September.
A series of Wednesday afternoon lectures will be presented throughout the month. Each lecture will be held from 1-2 p.m., in Activity Rooms 1 and 2.
The lectures include:
September 5 - Officer
John Lutz from the California Highway Patrol will present "Safe Driving for Seniors."
September 12 -
Anthony Seccoro, a Certified Senior Advisor, will present important information on "How to Protect Your Assets." This will be a fun event celebrating Hawaiian Day with refreshments and prizes.
September 19 - Dr.
Jonathan Greenberg will lead a discussion on "Snoring and Sleep Apnea."
September 26 - Dr.
Richard Kuritzkes from Providence Holy Cross Medical Center will speak on "Colon Cancer: Diagnosis, Prevention and Treatment."
In addition, the following free health clinics will be offered:
Tuesday, Sept. 4, there will be a hearing clinic from 11 a.m.-noon in the Respite Office conducted by
Randall Bartlett, M.A., courtesy of Audiology Services of Newhall.
Thursday, September 13, Dr.
Shane Rhodes, D.P.M., will provide free foot screenings in the Respite Office from 11 a.m.-noon.
Blood pressure screenings takes place in Activity Room 3 each Wednesday from noon-1 p.m.
