Spring and Summer are rattlesnake seasons, particularly if you live in areas where there are large amounts of brush nearby. New Leash On Life Animal Rescue wants to you to know the danger is minimal if you understand some very important facts. New Leash On Life has enlisted the help of
Hugo Heermann, trained rattlesnake wrangler, to host a rattlesnake seminar, from 11 a.m. - noon at the New Leash on Life animal rescue E.R.A. Center at 16742 Placerita Canyon Rd., Newhall.
Heermann has rescued and relocated thousands of snakes throughout the years and lectures at local schools and other venues. He predicts that with only three inches of rain so far this season and a hotter summer expected, rattlesnakes will become more visible than ever.
"When the rattler's local water sources dry up," Heermann says, "they come out looking for other sources."
New Leash On Life takes every precaution to protect its animals from snakes and feels the public would benefit from this fun and informative seminar. Heermann will show you how to identify rattlers vs. other types of snakes, what to do around the home to keep snakes out of your yard and away from family and pets, and what to do if you encounter a snake. ATTN: He will bring real LIVE snakes to properly demonstrate!
Free to the public. Space is limited.
