Are you a stay-at-home mom looking for creative ways to get you and your little darlings out of the house? Do you crave social interaction for you and your child? Well, you aren't alone. The MOMS Club of Canyon Country North just might be the answer you've been looking for.
The MOMS (Mothers Offering Mothers Support) Club's local chapter will be hosting a free open house from 10 a.m.-noon Friday, May 16, at Begonias Lane Park, 14911 Begonias Lane, Canyon Country.
There will be free child fingerprinting, games, snacks, a food drive and raffle, and a book reading, plus the Sheriff's Department will be on hand with a radio car.
This is a great opportunity for moms to get out with their children, meet other moms in the area, learn about our club, and have some fun at the same time," said
Leigh Ann Stiglich, president of MOMS Club of Canyon Country North.
"We have a great group of women who meet during the week for playdates and outings. It's really a lot of fun and gives the children a chance to meet others. I've also made some great friends," Stiglich said.
Members of the club will also be collecting non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Hunger Defense Fund. For every donation to the food drive, you will receive a raffle ticket that will be entered in a drawing for some great prizes.
The MOMS Club of Canyon Country North is a local chapter of an international group for moms who choose to stay at home and raise their children. MOMS Club is a nonprofit support group that organizes playgroups, babysitting, crafts, MOMs Night Out, community service projects and assists charitable organizations.
"Last year, we donated funds to the October fire victims and several local organizations," Stiglich said. "This open house is giving us a chance to help others through the food drive, but it also let's the community know what we are all about. It is great to help other organizations through our fundraising and service projects. Since we are a non-profit group, everything we do is to help and support others. Plus, it's going to be a lot of fun!"
