While there have been several one-sided articles written in The Signal lately which have failed to address substantial problems with the Henry Mayo expansion plan, I am happy to announce that our local radio station, KHTS 1220AM, is actually offering a balanced debate of the issues on Tuesday, April 24 th at 2 p.m.
Many residents from all over the valley -and on both sides of the issue- have complained about the over-abundance of rhetoric and the inability of the public to gather hard facts on the issue. Now is the time to get your questions answered!
The following link will take you to the KHTS web page where you can submit any and all questions regarding this topic. Questions will then be addressed by both myself and Roger Seaver during this one-hour debate. The debate will also be made available online in case you miss the live show:

Some in our group are outraged about this plan and some may still be wondering about certain facts. I encourage you to ask questions but try to be specific and unemotional so we can stay on topic as much as possible; the hospital/G&L Realty have become experts in vague and conceptual speak. Direct questions about impacts and even quality of care will force important issues to the surface quickly.
I also want to mention that KHTS will be the first and only news organization (so far) to provide an investigative report on the facts surrounding this development. This report is expected to be published later in the week and I will certainly provide you with the article's link once it's written. Although I'm not certain about what it will say, I'm confident that the facts speak for themselves.
Thanks to all and please take a moment to send in a question or two - or three!

Please let your voice be heard on this important issue. Post your questions on 1220AM's website (link below). Here is my comment which I just posted.
I am very suspicious of what is really driving the Henry Mayo Hospital expansion, especially when I learn that G&L bought 1/3 of the hospital for pennies on the dollar in 2003 and when I researched I found that they gave Frank Ferry the maximum campaign contribution ($360) in 2005 as did a number of physicians. It feels like a back room deal where a few people, G&L and Roger Seaver particularly, stand to make millions on a project that is not really going to meet the medical needs of this valley. I would like to hear Mr. Seaver's response to my concerns.
