Save-the-date cards have already gone out for the annual Celebrity Waiter Dinner coming this February, but that didn't stop the date from changing to accommodate bicyclists participating in the Amgen Tour on the previously announced date.

The Celebrity Waiter Dinner is now scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Valencia Hyatt Grand Ballroom.

The event, which benefits the Santa Clarita Senior Center's Adult Respite Day Care program, has traditionally been held on a Friday, but the new Saturday evening date may even be preferable for the zany event's most avid supporters, according to co-chair Chris Ball.

This year's theme is InterGALActic Affair, and a Saturday evening may give participants more time to prepare the elaborate table decorations and costumes that are the event's hallmark.

Committee members are working on a short list of exciting new auction items to be offered in the event's live auction, and entertainment is being developed around the theme.

The committee is still open to local residents who would like to be part of the event planning.
