Frances Leola Caleb Stewart celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday.

The daughter of Clarence and Leola Caleb, she was born in downtown Los Angeles on Oct. 25, 1908.

Moving up and down the coast from Los Angeles to San Francisco during her childhood, she truly is a "California girl."

Her one sibling was Edith May Caleb Jones (now deceased).

Frances graduated from Los Angeles High School in February, 1928, and remains best friends with one of her classmates, Millie Behnke, who turned 100 this past August.

"Frankie," as she likes to be called, married her husband, Donald Ross Stewart, in May 1934 and was blessed with two daughters, Linda and Gail.

The couple retired from Sepulveda - now called North Hills - to Bullhead City, Ariz., in 1969 and happily celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1984.

Now widowed, Frankie resides in Granada Hills and enjoys visits from nearby family.

Approximately 25 family members and friends came to honor Frankie at her birthday party. Among those attending were her daughters, Gail Daignaultand Linda Chamberlin; granddaughter, Teri Cardenas; and four great -grandchildren, Amanda, Melinda, Vanessa and Alyssa Cardenas.

Witty and fun, Frankie continues to entertain visitors with anecdotes from her lifetime.
