It's all play and no work on Labor Day
Contributed by: Kids Letters on 8/24/2008

TODAY'S TOPIC: We asked what is Labor Day and what are your plans for that day.

Labor Day is when people get a free day off from work. I will probably go to the beach or invite some of my friends' families to our house. If we go to the beach, we might go to Long Beach. If we stay at our home, we will have a barbecue. So, we have a lot of different plans but we will figure what to do soon.

Labor Day is a holiday when people get the day off and spend some time with their family or friends. I would probably have a barbecue at my house and swim in the pool. I would also invite other relatives to my house other than my cousins who live with me.

Labor Day is a holiday that everyone gets out of work. On Labor Day, people go and take a vacation. I am going to study hard and go and take a break and draw Lisa Gherardini (Mona Lisa).

Labor Day is a day where you spend time with your family. On Labor Day, you could go to places, eat something good and do some sports with your family. On Labor Day, we might go to Legoland and then go to my aunt's house, then play. After we eat, we'll go out to get desserts and then go back home.

On Labor Day, I have fun with my family. This time, my aunt said that we're going to a fun place that she calls Big Bear. She showed me and my family the place. To me, it looks wonderful because she bought a wonderful cabin. I love the beach house because there's sand, water slides and paddle boats. It's sunny and warm there. We might go there because my aunt's going to give me the keys. I'm so thankful because there's a bunk bed and I get to sleep on the top.

Labor Day is when your parents do not work. I will have dinner with my family. It will be a great day. We are going to eat rice, seaweed, soup, lettuce and kimchi. We will eat at a restaurant or at my house. Before we eat, my brother, my cousin and I might swim in my swimming pool.

Hey, Moms and Dads! Keep those letters coming! The kids are out of school for the summer, but that doesn't mean their brains have to go on vacation, too.
