TODAY'S TOPIC: We asked what are your summer vacation plans?

This summer I am going to change my personality. I mean this year, I have been bossy and mean so I am going to change that and be nice and giving. I will get out of some bad habits and be a much more generous guy.
Thomas Veronese, 10
Township Elementary
Simi Valley

Do you know what I want to accomplish before I go to fourth grade? First, I want to practice all my time tables and long division. I also want to practice doing fractions because sometimes I mess up. After, I'm going to practice handwriting. When I'm all done, I want to finish knitting a scarf for myself.
Ashley Pacias, 9
Fernangeles Elementary
Sun Valley

I want to go camping eight times in the summer. I want to accomplish building my half-pipe so I can skate on it. I want to go surfing for the first time.
Elijah Holts, 10
Township Elementary
Simi Valley

I really want to accomplish learning how to fence. I want to accomplish this because I've tried it once and I didn't do so good and I want to try it again. I want to do this because it's good exercise and very active. I want to do this because I can get stronger and it's a way to have fun during the summer.
Anthony Verzosa, 9

I want to accomplish making a robot. Why? Because I am very interested in electricity. I also want to learn how to make a circuit board.
Alex Ortiz, 8

Yes, school's out! The thing I want to accomplish for summer is to finish my 1,000 piece puzzle. The thing that I want to do is go to Space Camp. My cousin, Brandee, is also coming. Maybe she can help me with my puzzle.
Brittany Legier, 9
Sacred Heart School
Lancaster

For this summer, I want to go to my cousin's house to swim and have fun with him. In the pool, we could do anything we want and play anything we want. We would play tag, race each other or just have fun. If we got bored, we can get out of the pool and play video games. I would stay there for at least five or six hours.
Grigor Dzheyranyan, 10
Oxnard Street Elementary
North Hollywood

There are three things I want to accomplish in summer. One of them is that I would boogie board a huge wave and land safely. Two, I want to learn how to play the guitar and play a song. Three is to have a good summer!
Paolo Rodriguez, 11
Lemay Elementary
Van Nuys

My special thing I want to accomplish is to go to the beach three weeks in a row. Last year we only went two weeks so this is my goal this summer. Also, I want to learn how to skim board. I already have one; all I need to do now is to learn.
Chandler Davids, 10
Township Elementary
Simi Valley

Yes, I do want to accomplish or do something during summer. I want to win the soccer trophy. I want to win it so then next year we could play any team we want. I also want to win it so we could get another star on our shirts. You put another star on your shirt if you win the finals. I also want to go swimming. The place I want to go is Mexico. I want to go to Mexico so then I could visit my cousins.
Jose Sanchez, 11
Oxnard Street Elementary

I'm planning to travel to Arizona, then San Francisco. I'm going to vacation and relax and just have fun. I'm going to go swimming. I'm going to eat fried chicken and drink soda and watch movies.
Alvie London, 9
Sacred Heart School
Lancaster

In my summer, I'm going to go to summer school in sixth grade to know my teachers. When I go into sicth grade, I'll be OK with the teacher. And when I get out of summer school, I'm going to Mexico to see my other family. Then when I come back, I'm going to buy supplies for school.
Ana Cruz, 10
Lemay Elementary
Van Nuys

Do you want to know what I want to learn before going to fourth grade? I want to learn how to be more creative and read faster. I want to do long division, neat writing and better drawing. I also don't want to go to fourth grade shy. That's so embarrassing if they ask you to do handwriting and you don't know.
Ivette Hernandez, 8

This summer will be fun. I am going to sleep away camp with my friends. My uncle runs it. You go for a week. I am also going to Carpinteria. I will go to the beach. It will be awesome!

This summer I want to go to Ecuador because my uncle is getting married. He already got married but not at a church, so this summer he is. I also want to go because my cousin had her baby. My cousin for sure wants me to go because every time I go, I teach them English.

What I want to accomplish this summer is go to Guatemala. The reason I want to go to Guatemala is that I want to go visit my grandparents because I haven't met them. I've only seen them in pictures. I really want to go visit my cousins and grandparents because they're part of my family. I want to go see how Guatemala is. I want to know if it's pretty, big and I want to see every kind of farm animal.
Bianca Sanchez, 11

I would really like to go to Florida with my family and my cousins. My aunt has a beach house there. We go and hang out on the shore and swim and boogie board at the beach. They pop lots of firecrackers and we catch lightening bugs. We have fun!

This summer I want to accomplish going to Yosemite. There, the sights are fantabulous. That's how good it is. I even did a report on it so I could convince my dad to take me there. I also want to go to a mission to know what the Indians did on that spacious land. I will pretty much go anywhere as long as it is in the state I love - California!
