On Sunday, April 6, women from across Santa Clarita will gather to recount the story of Passover - the exodus of the Jewish people from Egypt.
Only this time, the story comes with a twist: We'll tell the story from a woman's perspective.
Everyone knows about
Moses and his role in helping the Jewish people escape from slavery in Egypt. But little is discussed about the women in the story.
For example,
Miriam, Moses' sister, played an integral part in the story.
Join us for this spiritual, uplifting service that spotlights the women's role in this historic event.
Women from all faiths are invited to attend. In the past, women from local churches have joined in the celebration of women's roles in our shared religious past.
A delicious, catered meal (including dessert) will be provided, along with entertainment - and a one-of-a-kind experience. Cost is $36 per person.
RSVPs are required by contacting KochavaGroup@yahoo.com or call 661-255-6410.
The Santa Clarita Valley Jewish Women's Seder will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 24436 Valley St., Newhall.
The Seder is sponsored by the sisterhoods of Congregation Beth Shalom and Temple Beth Ami and Hadassah's Kochava Group.
Special media sponsor is The Magazine of Santa Clarita.
