SCV Interfaith Council Thanksgiving event Nov. 16

Thursday evening, November 16, 2006 from 6:00 - 8:30 pm, the SCV Interfaith Council is sponsoring the 16th Annual Thanksgiving Celebration. The host again this year is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 24443 W. McBean Parkway in Valencia . (Between Rockwell Canyon and Singing Hills.).

Being held this year the week before Thanksgiving, a 'come and go' pot luck meal will be offered to guests along with a program presented by the Interfaith Council faith community members. The theme this year is "Come, Ye Thankful People, Come!" The program will include readings, a delightful and inspiring variety of musical presentations.There will also be crafts and activities for children.

"We enjoy the this casual format. The pot luck dinner will be highlighted by presentations to help us express gratitude with friends and neighbors," said, George McCleary, president of the SCV Interfaith Council.

A wide variety of churches will be represented through music and word at this annual Thanksgiving event including: Hindus, Buddhists, members of the SCV Interfaith Council, Human Relations Forum and the Community Development Corporation (Homeless Shelter).Interfaith members participating include: Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Santa Clarita United Methodist, Valencia United Methodist Church , Unitarian Universalists and more.

The general public is invited to attend.
