Fall festival fun at First Presbyterian Church
Contributed by: Teresa Howell on 10/8/2008

Leaves are falling, and tree colors are changing. Some say fall is here, but at First Presbyterian Church in Newhall, fall does not officially start until the fall festival.

This year, the fall festival will be held from 3-5 p.m. Oct. 26. For two hours, goblins and ghouls, pirates and martins, and all sort of creatures will roam the grounds and halls of the church, located at 24317 Newhall Ave., Newhall.

Young costumed creatures can dunk for apples, throw darts at balloons, toss bean bags through holes, and fish for prizes. Win or lose, players get all sorts of prizes.

The big event is the cake walk which will have baked goods for every type of sweet tooth, including cookies, cupcakes and cakes.

Candy goodies will be given out to all costumed treaters at the end of the night. In the church's parking lot, cars will be lined up with their trunks open.

Church members will hand out candy from decorated car trunks.

The church's fall festival is a safe and sane alternative for church and community kids. Everyone is invited for fun, games, and goodies.
