Unitarian Church supports single-payer health plan
Contributed by: Eve Bushman on 1/15/2008

The Unitarian Universalists of Santa Clarita Valley have overwhelmingly passed a resolution for a single-payerhealthcare plan.

The Unitarian Universalists of Santa Clarita Valley affirm the worth and dignity of every individual, and thus affirm access to quality healthcare as a basic human right.

It is the responsibility of the public, through the State of California, to meet this and other basic human needs in a just, equitable and compassionate manner.

In particular, this congregation supports the following: Equitable access, cultural sensitivity and basic treatment for all citizens, regardless of age, economic status, race or gender to affordable quality healthcare, through a single-payer plan.

Unitarian Universalist Church services are held at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday at the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, 22900 Market St., Newhall.
