"Thank a Soldier," a patriotic song written and recorded by Santa Clarita performing songwriter Trish Lester, now plays on the home page at www.DearAmericanHero.com.

The organization supports members of the military and their families in a variety of ways. By clicking on a link that reads, "Remembering Their Sacrifices," site visitors may purchase Lester's full CD, "Plymouth Belvedere," which includes the song.

Lester's folk/pop style has been likened to John Denver, Joni Mitchell and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

"Over the years, much of American folk music has had an anti-war focus," Lester said. "I wanted to acknowledge in song that freedom is not free. It has a price, and we owe a debt of gratitude to the countless soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines over the years who sacrificed to defend our way of life."

Working with Blue Star Mothers and Prayer Angels for the Military, Lester has donated dozens of CDs and music gift cards to U.S. troops serving abroad. Growing in popularity among military-related organizations, "Thank a Soldier" also plays on the home page of another armed forces support group, www.RedShirtFridays.org.
