Jeff Jensen's Blues Band rocks the house

It was like a night at B.B. King's as the Jeff Jensen Band lit up the stage of the Lexus of Valencia Jazz and Blues concert series, set amidst a breezy July summer night in the bustling hub of Valencia's Town Center Drive.

Hundreds of concertgoers of all ages danced the night away to the sultry rhythms of Jensen's riveting bluesy repertoire of songs.

The Friday night event was held on June 20 as a part of the ongoing weekly summer concert series produced by Summit West Management, LLC. The event also featured Jensen's CD release party of his newest album.

As part of the excitement of the evening, guest jazz artists joined Jensen and the band on stage. The crowd cheered and swayed to the beat such songs as "Sugar Sweet," "Damn Fine Woman" and "Rock This House" in the tradition of Jensen's unique multi-genre blues style.

The Jeff Jensen Band was formed in May, 2004. Since then, the band has performed hundreds of gigs. Some of the most impressive have been with Deborah Coleman, Paul Oscher and blues legend B.B. King as part of his 80th birthday tour.

The band competed in the 2005 International Blues Challenge representing the Santa Clarita Blues Society, and in 2006 representing the Pinetop Perkins Blues Society.
