The Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society brings back the "Friday Night Flickers!" Come join host and series coordinator SCVHS docent
E.J. Stephens for a movie series featuring classic pictures from the early days of Hollywood at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5.
Headlining the event will be
Charlie Chaplin's hilarious 1936 silent classic "Modern Times", which recently placed #78 on AFI's list of 100 Best American Films. This movie, which served as the final farewell of the entire silent comedy era, was filmed in nearby Agua Dulce!
Silent clown
Buster Keaton had Santa Clarita Valley ties as well. In the hilarious "Seven Chances" - in which our hero has only a few hours to get married or lose his fortune - Buster is chased by dozens of potential brides through Newhall's Beale's Cut.
Come see two of the funniest films ever made near where they were filmed! The event will be held at the Saugus Train Station in Heritage Junction at William S. Hart Park, 24101 San Fernando Road, Newhall.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and admission is free, but donations will be accepted. For more information, contact deadwrite@yahoo.com or
