"Chasing Open Spaces II" art exhibit
An artistic journey by three Santa Clarita Valley artists,
Laura Wambsgans
,
Rod Edwards
and
Lorelle Miller
, historically documenting the natural areas of the valley in a series of landscape paintings, continues.
Our mission is to capture on canvas the beauty of the Santa Clarita Landscape through paintings, creating an awareness and enthusiasm in our viewers for the beauty of their surroundings and finally creating an ongoing collection of works which will have historical significance as time and development changes the face of our environment.
As artists and residents of the Santa Clarita Valley we have been painting the oak trees, canyons and streams for many years, appreciating this valley more with each painting. The lighting in the Santa Clarita Valley rivals that of the Tuscan countryside in Italy. The palette of colors and vistas in this valley are so stunningly gorgeous that we find ourselves captive to our easels.
By bringing these paintings together our goal is to have viewers discover a new appreciation for the untouched landscape of the Santa Clarita Valley. For all of us beauty is just around the bend.
Thanks to the City of Santa Clarita,
Laurene Weste
and
Gail Ortiz
, a sampling of "Chasing Open Spaces" 2006 paintings are on display at
