Saugus dance team sizzles through summer
Contributed by: Theresa Bosarge on 7/25/2007

At 6 a.m. every weekday morning for six weeks this summer, you will find the Saugus High dance team practicing.

This 5-time national award-winning team is working very hard for the upcoming season. Captains Chloe Hazan, Tracy Bernardo, and Cory Feederle all agree that although it is a difficult task getting up every morning so early, it gives them an opportunity work on dances for upcoming rallies, football games, and competitions.

Used to a three week program every year, this time the summer program was increased to six weeks.

"We really have more time this year over the summer to bond and get to know our new team members" said Hazan.

It is obvious that the dedication and hard work shown by these kids pays off year after year and they are hoping to continue this winning streak in the 2007-08 season.

The team, composed of 21 girls and 1 boy, is led by their advisor Wendy Rashkin and coach Rob Schultz. Team members for 2007-08 include Tracy Bernardo, Sam Bosarge, Jasmine Boyes, Jessica Breneman, Cory Feederle, Erika Fisher, Victoria Friedman, Jaymi Garcia, Alexis Grcevic, Chelsea Gue, Meghan Gunnin, Chloe Hazan, Kelly Jacobik, Kellie Janeski, Darla MacDonald, Nick Muller, Karissa Petersen, Courtney Robbins, Alyssa Round, Amanda Sahm, Shea Tinsley, Sarah Yuwiler
