Audiences agree, "Grease!" is the word and the Santa Clarita Regional Theatre's production will knock your socks off!
After a sizzling opening weekend, "Summer Lovin''" will be sweeping the valley, and it's all happening at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons July 26-Aug. 17.
The 1950s style, the high spirited dancing and rock 'n roll, and unforgettable musical numbers make "Grease!" the show to see for teenagers of all ages. Whether it is at a pajama party for the Pink Ladies, the prom, the Burger Palace, or the drive-in movie, Danny Zuko and his gum chewing, D.A. hair-styled Thunderbird buddies and their wise cracking girls bring sparkle and energy as they paint the town with their singing and dancing, to the delight of theatre goers of all ages.
The songs made popular by
John Travolta and
Olivia Newton-John in the immensely popular movie rendition have been added to this SCRT production, so "You're the One that I Want," "Hopelessly Devoted," and "Sandy" are transported from silver screen on to the stage.
These songs are so popular, it is difficult not to want to sing along! But what would "Grease!" be without "Summer Nights," "Greased Lightning," "Look at Me I'm Sandra Dee," "We Go Together," and "Beauty School Dropout?"
Every song which helped make this original high school musical a Broadway hit with an eight year run, a box office smash, and a staple at parties across the country is alive on stage making for an unforgettable summer production. "Grease!" is co-directed by SCRT's Artistic Director
TimBen Boydston and veteran professional voice-over artist and character actor
