LA Wine Fest2008 invites you to their 3rd annual event offering two days of wine tasting, education and entertainment.
LA Wine Fest 2008 will offer over 500 wines from around the world. Attendees will be able to taste domestic wines, fine imports from France and Italy as well as the emerging wines from Spain, Chile, South Africa, Australia, Middle East and more.
The event will offer wine connoisseurs the chance to mingle with fellow wine enthusiasts and amateur tasters a unique opportunity to experience and learn about wine from leading experts.
The main stage will present non-stop information from insightful guest speakers throughout the weekend. Topics will include wine and food pairing, the art of blind tasting, wine tasting etiquette, career opportunities and the latest controversies swirling around the wine industry. New this year will be an olive oil tasting presented by
Olio & Olive.
Back by popular demand will be
Barry Lynn, known as The Cheese Impresario, speaking about artisanal cheese and wine pairing. On Saturday, there will be a special preview of the independent film,
Bottle Shock, with appearances by writer/director
Randall Miller and writer/producer
Jody Savin.
Bottle Shock, based on famous Paris tasting of 1976, stars Alan Rickman and Bill Pullman and is set to open August 15, 2008.
On Sunday, the
LA Wine Fest 2008 will be honoring
Tim Bekin, Category Manager of Ralph's with the Wine Excellence Award. This award will recognize the achievements of Ralph's recent success of their wine steward program.
LA Wine Fest 2008 will also offer wide selection of spirits include tequilas from Mexico, vodkas from Poland, liquor from the Netherlands plus a thirst quenching beer assortment.
New this year will be a "Private Wine Tasting" with
Georg Reidel, owner and founder of Reidel, on Saturday, July 12 at 6:15 PM. All participants will receive a unique set of Reidel wine glasses to use for tasting and then to take home.
On Saturday at 7:30 PM the "Reserve Wine Dinner" will take place, prepared by chef
EddyRocq. The dinner will feature 10-courses and be complimented by pre selected wines. A Separate ticket is required for both Saturday evening events.
In addition a exhibit area will offer an assortment of art, wine associations, vacation clubs, wine & culinary institutes, and beauty companies.

LA Wine Fest 2008 tickets are $45 per day or $80 for both days and are available in advance through wantickets.com, participating wine shops or at the door. The Reidel Wine Tasting is $90 and the Reserve Wine Charity Dinner is $175. Event hours are Saturday and Sunday, 2 PM - 6 PM.
