Falcons Dream Team takes second place in President's' Day Tournament.

To prepare for their weeklong tournament at the Dreamspark in Cooperstown, N.Y., the La Crescenta Falcons 10-year-old baseball team went undefeated in pool play in the Mid Valley Presidents' Day Tournaments and finished 3 and 1 to take second place.

These local ball players scored 49 runs in four games.

The tournament was a team effort led by pitchers Alex Hall, Kyle Currie, Gonzalo Rios, Joey McClure, Chris Reik and Cameron Wetherby. Catcher Andrew Gutierrez was called upon to catch in all fourgames, threw out runners at second, third and home. Also, Greg Stupakis was incredible at the plate getting on base 11 of his 13 plate appearances.

Marco Angrisani had 22 outs as the first baseman with leaping catches and MLB digs, Wyatt Ernst had two critical tags at third base, catching runners stealing and changing the makeup of the game.

The newest team member, Harrison Pyros was able to join them for two games and went 5 for 7 with 5 RBI's.

Coach Chris was pleased with their performance in their first games since their layoff last August. He said, "It's critical to have the right group of players and families in this demanding environment. We had boys that played soccer or basketball in the morning and baseball with us in the afternoon. The reality is that these players are great athletes and play multiple sports, so having dedicated and flexible parents is a must and is appreciated."
