The Homenetmen Glendale Ararat Chapter (Ararat) and the United States Table Tennis Association (USATT) are hosting the first locally-sanctioned table tennis tournament on Sunday, April 29.
The tournament will be held from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at Homenetmen Ararat Gymnasium, 3347 San Fernando Road, Los Angeles.
The table tennis tournament will consist of 52 players competing in six different tournament categories set by USATT. USA National team players
Barney Reed and
Misha Kazantsev, who will represent the United States next month in Croatia for the World Table Tennis Championships, will be competing along with British player
Ben Johnson and the junior top seed in the under 18 category,
Jeff Huang Lin, in the open singles tournament category.
"It is wonderful to see national players participating in our event alongside our future national players at Ararat," said Armond Gorgorian, director of Homenetmen Ararat Chapter.
"We invite the community and table tennis enthusiasts to come and watch the event and cheer on their favorite players," Gorgorian said.
First- and second-place prizes and trophies will be distributed at the end of the tournament.
