Golf classic celebrates fire, emergency services
Contributed by: Alicia Gonzalez on 10/13/2006

On Wednesday, Oct. 25 approximately 175 golfers will swing their clubs in support of maintaining high quality health care services in their own community by participating in the Simi Valley Hospital Foundation 11th annual Golf Classic-held at Lost Canyons Golf Club, 3301 Lost Canyons Drive, Simi Valley.

Funds raised from the Golf Classic will provide critical support to many areas of Simi Valley Hospital, including the Patient Care Tower building campaign, Women's and Children's and the Emergency Department. The Golf Classic will also celebrate and salute our local fire and emergency officials for their ongoing support to the community at large.

"We have tremendous pride in celebrating the men and women who always go a step beyond in providing our community with top-notch emergency and fire services," said Donna Wick, SVH Foundation Executive Director. "Our hospital is very fortunate to work alongside many of these fine individuals who keep our city safe-they're definitely worthy of our gratitude and celebration."

Golfers will have a choice of an early morning or afternoon start time. The early morning shotgun tee time is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. The late morning shotgun tee time is at

11:30 a.m. Regardless of the participant's start time, all golfers are invited to attend the scheduled lunch, dinner and awards ceremony. The event will conclude at approximately 5 p.m. with an awards ceremony, dinner and opportunity drawing.

"The Golf Classic is an excellent opportunity to treat your colleagues and/or employees to a fabulous afternoon, increase your community presence and raise much needed funding for the Simi Valley Hospital Foundation," said Wick.

Participation in the golf classic is $250 per player - includes green fees, golf cart, lunch, dinner, beverages and much more. Interested golfers wishing to participate should call Judi Gibas-Sims at (805) 955-6213 for more information.
