Free classes for seniors at GCC

Glendale Community College's Lifelong Learning Seminars program for seniors offers a wide range of free classes during the fall semester.

Lifelong Learning Seminars are held at locations throughout Glendale, including the Life Skills Building at the college's main campus off Mountain Street near the Glendale (2) freeway; the Professional Development Center in Montrose at 2340 Honolulu Ave.; Maple Park at 820 E. Maple; and Sparr Heights Community Center at 1613 Glencoe.

Courses are currently open and may be entered at any time during the semester, which ends Dec. 19.

Seminars include discussion classes such as "Joy of Living," film criticism, "Where's My Memory" and philosophy and ethics.

Arts and crafts classes are offered including dressmaking, oil painting, water color and sketching.

Financial strategies and volunteering for health and service are also among the many classes available.

Registration can be done online or in the classroom at any class meeting.
