Glendale hillside ordinance
Contributed by: Dick Murray on 8/17/2006

On Tuesday, Aug. 22, the Glendale City Council will consider whether or not a home should be built at 2644 Kennington Dr., in Glendale, which has a slope of 72 percent and endangers a large (protected) Oak tree.

The Chevy Chase Estates Association has appealed this case based on the fact that the slope exceeds the hillside ordinance, plus the fact that the applicant feels that he must cut down a beautiful, large so-called protected Oak tree.

There is no question that the home could be built without destroying one of Chevy Chase Association's most cherished assets, Oak trees.

We implore all of those persons who feel as we do that our canyon is beautiful because of our wonderful Oak trees.

Please support us at the hearing, held Tuesday at6 p.m., at Glendale City Hall, 633 S. Broadway.

We appreciate your support. For questions about this issue, call Dick Murray, president of the Chevy Chase Estates Association, at 818-240-2305, or e-mail, smurray803@aol.com.
