Verdugo Hills Hospital welcomes first baby of 2008

Three is a charm for the Ter-Galstanian family who welcomed their newborn at Verdugo Hills Hospital (VHH) right after the New Year.

Weighing seven pounds and eight ounces and just 20 inches in length, baby Arventa Sevada Ter-Galstanian was born on Jan. 2, at 2:31 p.m., making him the first baby of 2008 born at VHH.

Parents Silvart and Garnik of Glendale also have an 11-year-old daughter, Melvina, and a 5-year-old son, Arvega.

"It is the same feeling each time when you welcome a new life into the world," said Silvart.

"Every child has his or her own sweetness," said Garnik. "With your first baby, if it is a boy then you want a girl for your second baby and vice versa. But with your third baby it is a choice and we are very happy and excited."

The parents were also very pleased to receive a congratulatory gift set from VHH, which included a baby shirt, teddy bear, rattle and a pair of booties.
