Reading can be a blast

TODAY'S TOPIC: What types of books do you like to read?

I love to read! Every time I open a book, I can go anyplace in the world and meet anyone I want to meet. I can swim the Panama Canal or fly through the universe all in my own home. My favorite genre to read is fantasy. It's more entertaining and intriguing to me. I have many favorite books. Some are "Annie Finkle's Rules for Girls," "Encyclopedia Brown," "Summerland" and my two favorites, "The Monstrous Memoirs of a Mighty McFearless" and "Twilight." I hope one day to write my own books.

I like to read "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" because it's funny to read. It makes me laugh a lot because of the pictures. I like picture books and fiction books. No, I don't keep a list because I don't have a calendar at my house but my sister has one but she doesn't let me use it. I do have a library card and I pick war books, funny books, sad books, true books and cartoon books. One book I liked was "First World War" and "SpongeBob Squarepants."

My favorite kind of book to read is fiction. My favorite book is "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret." This is my favorite book because it is funny, realistic and has a great story line. It is a total girl book, which I love. Judy Blume is a fantastic writer and I can't wait to read all of her other books.

My favorite book is "Captain Underpants. I like "Captain Underpants" because it is laughable and it has a lot of action. My favorite kind of book is fiction because it has some witty parts. I don't have a list of books with the author's name. I have a library card so can check out books. I also like to read mystery books because they are so terrifying.

I love a good book that can make me laugh. I also love action stories that make me jump out of my seat. But the thing that I like most in a book is when it's so exciting that it makes you want to read on. My favorite book would have to be, "The Homeless Bird." It's emotional, interesting and it made me want to read on. When I was done reading it, I was sad that it was over. To me, that's what makes a great book.

I like to read car books. They're cool because of the pictures they have of cars. I like picture books that are non-fiction. I do not keep a list of books. I do not have a library card but in school, I go to our library and I take out car books.

Normally, I don't like reading for fun. But I've found a genre that I can actually stand. It's called comedy/action/adventure. It's really a custom-genre and only a few books fit. One of them is called "Flush" written by Carl Hiaasen. It's one of the best books a kid could ever read. It has a lot of adventure and it was really fun to read. Another book I loved is "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" written by Sherman Alexie. It's one of the funniest books ever. Both of these books are worth reading even if you're like me and don't really love reading.

I don't have a lot of books but I do have a favorite. It is the incredible series of "Spiderwick." It is a fantastic book. I love fiction books because they are the most fun. Yes, in fact, I do have a library card but I don't use it. I just get movies at the library. But at the school library, I get drawing books. Now I will try to read more fantastic books. I love reading!

I like to read books. They help us learn more English and maybe we can be authors when we grow up. I hear they make good money. If you read books a lot, it can make you smarter and then college would be a piece of cake. Once you pass, you can get a good job and make a lot of money to get a nice car. That is why you should read books a lot.

I like to read one book. I read for fun. The book is "Captain Underpants." It is colorful, funny and it has a lot of pictures. I do not know who the author of "Captain Underpants" is. I do like picture books and I like fiction. I do not keep a list, but I have it in my head. I have a library card and with it I could check out a lot of books like "Goosebumps," dinosaurs, whales and sharks.

My favorite types of books to read are mystery, fantasy and fiction novels. I like mystery novels because they keep you on your toes and you always want to know what's going to happen or when it's going to happen. I also like fantasy because I love adventures and made up things like fairies, goblins, witches. They excite me and make me wonder what it would be like if I were in that kind of a story. I also like fiction as a whole because it's fun to hear what made-up, crazy ideas the author is talking about or what the author is trying to tell you. One of my favorite mystery novels is called "The Westing Game" by Ellen Raskin. "The Westing Game" is about a murder mystery that thrills you. It always makes you think and that's why I love it! As fantasy goes, I love the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. These books are all about witchcraft and wizardry. They're exciting and interesting. Last, but not least, as fiction goes, I love "Twilight." This book is about vampires and humans and what happens when they meet and fall in love.
