Kids plan their perfect summer day
Contributed by: Kids Letters on 7/21/2008

TODAY'S TOPIC: We asked what would be your perfect summer vacation day?

My perfect summer day is when I go fishing at a lake with my parents. We make a contest of who gets the biggest fish. I was the winner and my brother lost.
Alexis Garcia, 8
Fernangeles Elementary

My perfect summer day was when I went to the park. I brought food, scooters and a blanket. I was playing with water and hide-and-seek. After we went to eat chicken, I got water balloons and me and my brothers and sisters were throwing them on each other. Then, we were tired, so we drank water and then we played with the scooters. After, we climbed up everything and we played and then we got in the car and left.
Cristal Martinez, 8

My idea for a perfect day is to go to some other city with one of my friends from the class. The city I would go to would be Paris. I would go to French restaurants. Then, I could go with my friend to see the Eiffel Tower.
Isaiah Del Toro, 7

For summer vacation, you can go to the beach. You can bring a bucket, dig in the sand, go in the water and also make a sandcastle.

My perfect summer is playing different kinds of video games. I would play all the games all the day.

My perfect summer would be to go to Mexico. I would go with my family. I would play with my cousin, Kasandra.

My idea for a perfect day is to go to China with Josue. We can go climbing a big mountain and find a stone. We can also go to a Chinese restaurant.

COMING UP: If you could trade places with your parents for one day, what would you make them do that you usually have to do? What would you have to do as a parent? Draw a picture of you and your parents exchanging places.

Parents and teachers should make sure that the student's name, address, age and school are CLEARLY PRINTED on the letters and the backs of drawings.

Pictures should be drawn using black or dark blue ink on white, unlined paper. Drawings must be no larger than a standard, 8 1/2-by-11 inch sheet of paper.

The deadline is July 29 and letters will be printed Aug. 5. Letters received after the deadline cannot be considered.

Send entries to Kids' Daily News, Daily News Features Department, P.O. Box 4200, Woodland Hills, CA 91365-4200.

Hey, Moms and Dads! Keep those letters coming! The kids are out of school for the summer, but that doesn't mean their brains have to go on vacation, too. Encourage your children to keep up their reading and writing by keeping up with the Kids' Daily News and responding to our weekly questions throughout the summer. We like hearing their thoughts - serious, insightful or amusing.
