Dentist to speak at college

"Fundamental Biomechanics in Dentistry" will be presented at Glendale Community College at noon Tuesday, Feb. 26, in room 243of the Santa Barbara Building.

The speaker will be Dr. Robert Wheeler, a dentist from the Descanso Medical Center in La Canada. He is a graduate of the USC School of Dentistry. Wheeler was the recipient of the first Nobelpharma Per Ingvar Branemark Award for implant dentistry and was sent to Sweden to continue his research on implant restoration techniques.

He is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society and the International Academy of Comprehensive Aesthetics.

For his lecture, Wheeler will discuss the basic anatomy and function of the human masticatory system. The concepts of biomechanics, anatomy, normal function, dysfunction and some dental treatment options will also be addressed.

The presentation is part of the GCC Science Lecture Series.

Admission is free and open to the public.
