National Run at Work Day
Contributed by: Atineh Haroutunian on 9/19/2007

On Friday, September 21, Americans across the nation will be participating in National Run at Work Day with the goal of increasing awareness about the importance of daily physical activity. Today more than 64% of adults are overweight (33%) or obese (31%). The current US standards recommend that all adults participate in at least 35 minutes of physical activity everyday. National Run at Work Day is a 35 minute run/walk that adults participate in during their lunch hour, to increase awareness of the importance of daily physical activity!

Participating runners and walkers in Glendale will gather at 330 N. Brand Blvd. for the run/walk and event activities that include stretching, informational booths on fitness and nutrition, and a raffle drawing for a prize worth over $100. Activities begin at 11:15am. The run/walk will commence promptly at 11:30am.

Come in running shoes and comfortable attire. Following the event, there will be a raffle for a prize worth more than $100. To register, send names of participants to elainem@aaybootcamp.com. This a fun and exciting event to raise awareness of a serious public health issue. We encourage everyone to participate in National Run at Work Day, regardless of one's fitness level.

National Run at Work Day is sponsored locally by All About You! Wellness Bootcamp (AAY!) and Retreat Self-Care. Participants are encouraged to pre-register for the event. Please contact Elaine Miller for more information and to register. Call (818) 437-5523 or email elainem@aaybootcamp.com
