Glendale Adventist Medical Center and the Glendale Historical Society recently teamed up to raise funds for a much-needed cancer fitness program in the Glendale community.
The Glendale Garden Tour featured a tour of 12 beautiful, private gardens in the Glendale area and raised approximately $36,000 for a free cancer fitness program at Glendale Adventist Medical Center.
The staff at Glendale Adventist Medical Center are proud to give our community access to all the tools that they need to fight and survive cancer.
Glendale Adventist Medical Center cancer experts, physical therapists and certified athletic trainers have put together a unique program tailored specifically for cancer patients following surgery, radiation and/or chemotherapy.
It helps them recapture lost strength, increase muscle mass, enhance joint range of motion, improve balance and regain inspiration and personal power to take an active role in treatment and recovery
The classes, which include a general fitness class and a yoga class, are conveniently located at the Therapy and Wellness Center, with free parking, lockers and changing rooms for participants.
And, thanks to the funds raised at the Glendale Garden Tour, classes are free to any cancer patient.
The classes are:
Fitness for Cancer Survivors
10-11 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays
Yoga for Cancer Survivors
1-2 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays
They are held in theGlendale Adventist Medical Center Therapy and Wellness Center, located at 2560 Colorado Blvd., Eagle Rock.
