YMCA swimming pool gets a lift
Contributed by: Craig Cerro on 4/27/2007

Thanks to the generosity of the Glendale Community Foundation, the YMCA of Glendale was able to replace its' old broken pool lift.

"With the number of community members using the YMCA for exercise and physical therapy, this lift helps these people enjoy the use of their swimming pool," stated John Thomas, YMCA CEO.

Thomas continued, "We could not have replaced this lift without the help of the foundation. These members are extremely grateful for this pool lift."

The YMCA swimming pool is utilized by exercise classes, arthritis classes, private physical therapy and adult swimming and personal exercise programs.

The grant was funded by the Glendale Community Foundation-Ervin F. Dinley & Daniel R. Samaniego Fund, along with the Doug and Rhona Clarke Funds. The Glendale Community Foundation, a publicly supported charitable endowment with over $7 million in assets, makes grants from the earnings of its invested contributions every two months to local nonprofit organizations in the greater Glendale area.
