Contributed by: Alicia Gonzalez on 9/21/2007

Experts from the Heart and Vascular Institute and Neuroscience Institute at Glendale Adventist Medical Center (GAMC) are offering a limited number of free tests to screen for stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysm and peripheral arterial disease. Screenings will be held at Glendale Adventist Medical Center Main Auditorium on Tuesday, Sept 25 from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m.

WHY:
Stroke: Tests can indicate whether there may be narrowing or clogging of the blood vessels that supply blood to the brain, a problem that increases your risk of stroke.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm: This condition appears as a weak area in the main blood vessels that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body.

Peripheral Arterial Disease: Also called peripheral vascular disease, this condition causes blocked blood flow in the leg arteries.

WHERE:
Glendale Adventist Medical Center is located at 1509 Wilson Terrace, Glendale

HOW:
Pre-registration is required. For more information, please call (818) 409-8100. For more information visit the website at www.glendaleadventist.com.
