Ronald Reagan Library event to benefit Special Olympics' Young Athlete Program
WHAT: Tri-Valley Special Olympics will host the "Inspire Greatness Awards Banquet" on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Ronald Reagan Library. The public is invited to attend.
Pat Harvey
, the Emmy-winning journalist and anchor from KCAL Prime 9 News, will be the Master of Ceremonies, and the event will include a silent and live auction, a tour of the Reagan Library, dinner and entertainment.
Several Olympian gold and silver medalists will be present also. Proceeds will benefit Special Olympics' Young Athlete Program for "future" Olympians ages 2 through 7 years of age. Join the numerous celebrities, special athletes, friends, families and supporters of Tri-Valley Special Olympics as we make a difference in each of these athlete's "training for life."
WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 15. Silent Auction opens at 5 p.m. along with a tour of the library. Dinner is served at 7:15, which includes entertainment, awards, etc.
COST: $125 per ticket. Sponsorships/tables available.
WHERE: Ronald Reagan Library, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley, 93065
For more information, contact Tri-Valley Special Olympics (818) 342-0017 or e-mail jmaseda@sosc.org.
DETAILS: Tri-Valley Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition in 14 sports at 23 venues to more than 950 special athletes with mental handicaps/developmental disabilities throughout the San Fernando Valley, Burbank, Glendale, Calabasas/Agoura and surrounding areas. We give our special athletes continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community, free. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Glendale has long supported the programs of Tri-Valley Special Olympics. Tri-Valley Special Olympics is reaching out to young athletes in the Glendale area through the "future" Olympians program. Since we do not receive any financial support from the government, our funds must come from grants, individual and corporate donations and from this event that we are planning at the Ronald Reagan Library.
