Live animation created in planetarium dome
Contributed by: Wendy Grove on 7/1/2008

The Glendale Community College Planetarium presents new performances this summer of John "J. Walt" Adamczyk's live-animation presentation "Spontaneous Fantasia."

Friday shows are at 8 p.m. July 25 and Aug. 8. Saturday shows are at 6:30 p.m. on July 26 and Aug. 9.

Adamczyk is an interactive designer, filmmaker, graphic artist and composer. He won a Technical Academy Award this year for his development of a real-time pre-visualization system.

He is also an award-winning pioneer of computer-generated puppetry.

For "Spontaneous Fantasia," presented in the GCC planetarium's full-dome digital theater, Adamczyk creates a real-time animation world in front of the audience.

Part of the proceeds supports GCC's free K-12 science outreach program.

Admission is $15 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Cash only. Tickets are available at the door. Tickets can be reserved by e-mail at planetarium@glendale.edu.

There is no late seating.

For more information, call the GCC Planetarium at 818-240-1000, ext. 5275.

The college is located at 1500 N. Verdugo Road.
