GCC students raise funds for Chiapas children

The Association of Latin American Students (ALAS) will sponsor a Peña at Glendale Community College from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, May 3, on Plaza Vaquero.

Live music, dancing, exhibits, books, music CDs, arts and crafts and Latin-American cuisine will all be a part of the event.

Proceeds from the evening will go to The Children of Chiapas Foundation, which supplies shelter, food, clothing, education, healthcare and recreational activities to children in the state of Chiapas, Mexico.

General admission is $12, $7 for parents with children and $6 for students. Admission is free for children under 12.

Donations are welcome.
