Anupam Malik
, RN, MS, recently joined Verdugo Hills Hospital (VHH) as clinical director of medical surgical services.
Malik is excited about the opportunity to draw upon nearly 30 years of healthcare experience in her new role.
When asked about her thoughts about her new position, Malik smiles with enthusiasm. "I am extremely excited about the opportunity to work in the hospital which is located closest to my home," she said. "I look forward to continuing to provide the excellent care VHH has provided over the years, while applying my own experience to raise the standards of excellence to meet or exceed the expectations of our customers."
Prior to joining VHH, Malik worked at Glendale Adventist Medical Center (GAMC) in various capacities for nearly 30 years.
While at GAMC, Malik worked as a floor nurse, supervisor, and manager and was also involved with case management, quality management, as well as service line development and marketing.
During the past four years, Malik served as the director of GAMC's orthopedic service line.
"I think that working in a close-knit hospital environment is going to be a rewarding experience," Malik said. "When I learned that this hospital has been voted 'Foothills' Best' for five years in a row, I grew excited at the idea of working with people who have the same goals in patient care that I do. I believe that having a smaller, closer, family of co-workers helps convey more of that 'personal touch' which patients feel many hospitals lack."
Judy McCurdy
, vice president of patient care services and chief nursing office at VHH, says Malik brings great enthusiasm, knowledge and "can do" attitude.
"She has gotten involved quickly with multiple projects and offers insightful yet practical suggestions. We are benefiting from all of her past experiences and plan to use her as a great new resource," McCurdy said.
A Sunland resident, Malik holds a master's degree in chemistry. "I am a positive person, so I bring that positive energy," Malik explains. "I'm excited to have the opportunity to share that with everyone at VHH."
