Bonelli to head VHH's admitting

Marc Bonelli recently joined Verdugo Hills Hospital (VHH) as admitting manager, overseeing more than 20 staff members in the admitting department and managing admitting, emergency room and ancillary registration processes.

Bonelli brings more than 20 years of healthcare administration experience to VHH.

In his new role, Bonelli plans to focus on customer service efforts and to make sure his department is running in a consistent, cohesive manner.

"My goal is to increase the patient satisfaction scores and goals, and to ensure that our patients have the best experience possible," he says.

"Perception is reality. It is important to set a positive tone at the beginning of the registration process," Bonelli adds. "The overall patient experience starts with admitting, and we set the tone for the rest of their journey at the hospital, so we want to be positive, quick and timely."

Prior to joining VHH, Bonelli served as the admitting manager at St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo. He has also worked at Glendale Memorial Hospital for four years, overseeing admitting and ER.

Prior to that, he worked at Century City Doctors Hospital for 14 years, managing the admitting of two facilities - Century City and Midway (now called Olympia).

Bonelli said he looks forward to working at VHH. "I'm familiar with the community and I've always liked it. It's nice to work for a smaller facility that is family-oriented."

Marc is married and has a 13-year-old son and an 11-year-old daughter.
