8th Annual MVP Basketball Camp for youth

Just wanted to let you folks know about a fun weeklong event for kids scheduled for July 9-13 in Burbank.

Mike Graceffo, City of Burbank recreation coordinator, called me on Friday to inform me of the 8th Annual MVP Basketball Camp.

The camp, which is already full, is for girls and boys in grades 5-8. Each night, 60 campers will learn basketball fundamentals, practice drills, play games, and more. They will hear from guest speakers, participate in contests, and get their very own t-shirts and gym bags.

Camp will be held at Luther Burbank Middle School from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. On Friday, the camp moves to Verdugo Recreation Center, 3201 W. Verdugo Ave. , where the kids will take a dip in the swimming pool and be treated to pizza and drinks.

Support the city's Park, Recreation, and Community Services Department as they continue to find ways to entertain youngsters!
