Travel agents secrets revealed
Contributed by: Harvey Branman on 2/18/2007

What do hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, car rental companies, and even international airlines have in common? They rely on travel agents to sell their products.

How do these companies get travel agents to promote their product over the competition?

The travel vendors offer agents great discounts so the agent can go and get familiar with their product. The logic is - it's easier to sell a product if you've tried it, and if you believe it is going to make your clients happy.

The term that is most popular with travel agents is FAM. It stands for Familiarization trip.

There's literally thousands of FAM's offered to all travel agents every day. A FAM trip is generally 50 to 90 percent less than retail and sometimes free.

The cost to become an associate travel agent, which gives you access to all these perks, a chance to own your business, and work from home either part-time or full-time, is only few hundred dollars. The benefits are priceless.

If you are interested in learning how easy this is, come to a free presentation and decide for yourself. Call Harvey or Hazel of H and H Travel at (818) 846-7351 for the time and location of their next event.
