Lost your digital photos? Don't freak - undelete
Contributed by: Derek De Vette on 9/29/2008

What happens when you accidentally delete a digital photo and have no idea how to get it back? Worse, what happens to your marriage when you have to tell your spouse that the photos of your daughter's first day at kindergarten were ... umm ... accidentally deleted? Right ... We'll spare the gory details there.

Fortunately, there is hope. Burbank-based Diskeeper Corp. just released a software product called Undelete 2009®. Not only can you get your photos back - you can even recover Word docs, Excel spreadsheets and more with a simple right click of the mouse and selecting the file you want back.

"I accidentally deleted digital pictures of my daughter's first day of kindergarten - pictures at the bus stop with the family, mother crying, first steps getting on the bus, all gone. Thank you very much for saving this once-in-a-lifetime experience," said Bob Morris, who used Undelete to save the photos.

How does this technology work? Company spokesperson Colleen Toumayan said Diskeeper "basically found a way to replace the Windows recycle bin with a powerful Recovery Bin that captures all of your data - from your family photos to your office files. It even recovers earlier 'saved over' versions of files that most people think are gone forever. Only Undelete 2009 can get those back, too, every time."

So forget going to back-up. And save your marriage! The next time you accidentally delete a photo or file, don't freak - just Undelete.

Jackie, $29.95 (Home edition) thru the site www.undelete.com Jackie, $29.95 (Home edition) thru the site www.undelete.com It really does work. A coworker of mine made several changes to her Excel spreadsheet and accidentally "saved over" them. She lost vital statistical data but was able to get it all back--the different earlier versions--using Undelete. -- DD

Wow, sounds too good to be true. Hmmm. I wonder what it costs? Maybe I'll check out the free "trial" edition.
