Here are some fabulous reviews from local food reviewers about The Bird Cage!
"Don't let the narrow, wood frame storefront fool you. The Bird Cage, with its shotgun space seating, has plenty of room for large parties, and the menu is anything but simple. You might have a hard time at lunch choosing between the Great Wall Asian burger, with wasabe mayo, and the Happy Chef eggplant sandwich, with goat cheese, marinated bell peppers and sundried tomato pesto. Dinner is also a draw, with selections like New England style crab cakes and seared Atlantic salmon. The menu offered in the VIP room is as distinct and secretive as the room itself, seating private parties of four to six on beds behind the latched fortress-like wooden door. Otherwise, all are welcome to enjoy the open-air patios and hookah lounge." --
Trana Shannon
"Three levels of patios are nestled into a Studio City hillside hiding this sprawling, bohemian space. A romantic bar of dark wood, deep-toned velvet curtains and candles, opens into the decadent hookah lounge of giant divans, brocade pillows and lanterns. The top is an elegant perch, viewing the twinkling hills amid mod wooden tables and a leafy bower overhead. Upscale international cuisine features smoked fish trio on potato pancakes with caviar, chicken stuffed with duxelles, and bacon-wrapped scallops." --Martha Burr
