Philanthropist Carolyn Dirks was honored with "The Duke Award" at the 23rd annual Odyssey Ball, the annual fundraising event that benefits the John Wayne Cancer Institute at Saint John's Health Center.

Multi-talented entertainer Roslyn Kind performed for the more than 500 guests and actress Beth Broderick hosted.

The Odyssey Ball is organized by the John Wayne Cancer Institute Auxiliary, established in 1982.

Since its inception, the event has helped raise over $15 million to support the John Wayne Cancer Institute's life-saving cancer research and treatment programs.
