Burbank On Parade announces grand marshal

Sandy Dennis, president of Burbank on Parade, announced that the grand marshall of this year's "Back to the 50s"-themed parade will be Anson Williams, who starred in "Happy Days" as Potsie.

Williams, a native of Los Angeles, attended Burbank High School, and began his acting career in thestage production of "The Music Man."

A string of television commercials and guest appearances on "The Paul Lynde Show," "Marcus Welby, MD" and several Tony Randall specials followed followed before he was cast in the memorable role of Potise.

Following "Happy Days," Williams, who has a beautifuf voice, had a very successful singing career before deciding to try his hand at directing.

In addition to directing several feature films,Williams has directed episodes of "Beverly Hills 90210," "L.A. Law," "Star Trek: Voyager," "Melrose Place," "Deep Space 9" and "Zena: Princess Warrior."

When he is not working, Anson spends his "happy days" with his family in Malibu.

The parade will be held on Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. It will start at Lincoln and Olive and end at Lomita.

Following the parade, an awards ceremony will take place at George Izay Park, where a crafts fair and delicious food and desserts will be available.
