Burbank High violence prompts visit from NAACP
Contributed by: Sharon Y Garrett on 4/3/2007

A hearing held at Burbank High School to determine the placement of 12th grader Jerriell Sanders, included the presence of Sharon Y. Garrett, president of the San Fernando Valley Branch NAACP.

On going campus issues stemming from Armenian student aggressions, has resulted in what Mrs. Garrett refers to as "acceptable campus segregation."

Following the Sanders hearing, Mrs. Garrett was approached by students, parents and residents of the city of Burbank regarding the malicious mob acts of Armenian gangs on and off the Burbank High School campus.

Mrs. Garrett has a scheduled meeting with the Burbank High School Administration on Thursday, April 5, 2007 where she will address the alleged willingness of school administrators allowing Armenian students to control the cafeteria area not allowing other students the right to utilize the facility. This is where students are provoked, intimidated and challenged into volatile outcomes.

Formal complaints have been filed with the NAACP requesting help for violation of civil rights. Complaints include assault, false arrest and unfair treatment. The complaints also accuse administrators and local police of not providing protection and failure to invoke any disciplinary action against the Armenian aggressors.
