Of the estimated 4,000 people that came to the Starlight Bowl in Burbank for its famous Fourth of July Celebration, about 2,500 of them left with a free eco-friendly blue canvas bag, thanks to the city of Burbank,
Brad Korb and RE/MAX In Action.
"We all look forward to the Starlight Bowl every year," said Brad Korb's listing coordinator
Kristen Frost, on hand to pass the bags out to guests at the show, who enjoyed performances by such classic "oldies" groups as the Drifters, the Del Vikings and the Flamingos as well asthe comedy of the Jokesters and a gorgeous display of fireworks.
"People were dancing and having a great time. It seemed like they were all dressed for the celebration," Frost said. "I never saw so many red, white, and blue shirts and pants and shorts and hats in my life!"
Many Burbank residents have come to look forward to the great gifts handed out every year by the well-known Burbank Realtor, who has been the sole sponsor of the event for many years. Hand-outs in previous years from Korb have included flag lapel pins, flag decals, red-white-and-blue bracelets and hand-held fans.
"We really enjoy working with Brad Korb year after year," said
Cathryn Villalobos, recreation supervisor for the city of Burbank. "He's always super cooperative and works very well with us in figuring out a give-away that people are going to like receiving. Having a nice give-away makes it a more memorable night for everybody. The canvas bags were great - you can use them everywhere, and they were very appropriate this year."
