Couple celebrates 70 years of marriage!

Jeannette and Quinn Storti of Burbank celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 21, at a party with family and friends given by their sons, Jim Storti of Burbank and Ken Storti of Glendale and Ken's wife, Gail.

Quinn, who turned 96 on June 6, was born in Germany while his family was on holiday from their home in Tuscany, Italy.

When he was 17, his family migrated to the United States and made their home in Chicago.

Jeannette was born in Chicago one year after her family migrated there from Sardinia, Italy, in 1918.

She and Quinn met through their families, fell in love and married on May 8, 1938.

They made a home in Chicago and after the birth of their sons, two of Jeannette's sisters, who were already living in the Los Angeles area, lured them to move their family to the West Coast.

They settled in Burbank in 1951 and have lived in the same house ever since.

Quinn worked for Lockheed for 31 years before retiring in 1977. Jeannette, being the typical Italian "Mama," loves to be in her kitchen and delights her family and friends with delicious dishes from "the old country" and freshly baked cookies daily.

June 21 is also Jeannette's 89th birthday -another great reason for a celebration.
