TODAY'S TOPIC: How do you keep cool during hot summer days?

The best way to keep cool is to go into the bathtub with cool water, a smoothie, a book and a candy bar.

I keep cool in the summer by getting in my own pool outside my house. I play "The Little Mermaid" whenever my dad is cleaning the other side of the pool. Sometimes I bring a toy and start playing with it.

COMING UP: If you could speak a foreign language that you don't already know, what language would it be and why? Draw a picture of something from the country in which that language is spoken.

Parents and teachers should make sure that the student's name, address, age and school are CLEARLY PRINTED on the letters and the backs of drawings.

Pictures should be drawn using black or dark blue ink on white, unlined paper. Drawings must be no larger than a standard, 8 1/2-by-11 inch sheet of paper.

The deadline is July 22 and letters will be posted July 29.

Hey, moms and dads! The kids are out of school for the summer, but that doesn't mean their brains have to go on vacation, too.
