If you could lunch with anyone, who would it be?
Contributed by: Kids Letters on 1/28/2008

TODAY'S TOPIC: If you could have lunch with anyone from the past or present, who would it be, and why?

If I could have lunch with a famous person I would have it with Mia Hamm. I would have lunch with her because she is a famous soccer player and I love playing soccer. We would go to Kushiyu for lunch and we would talk about how good she is at soccer. Both of us would have soup, cucumber rolls, fish and ice cream for dessert.

If I could eat lunch with anyone I would eat with the guitarist Slash. One reason I would eat with him is because he could help me get better at guitar. Another reason I would eat with him is he could show me how to play some of the songs he made. The next reason is that he is the best guitarist in the world. What we would talk is about what songs he made. Where we would go to when we eat is at my house. What I would eat is a cheeseburger.

If I could have lunch with anyone I would choose Ann Brashares. She is the author of my favorite series of books, "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants." Her books inspire me to be a unique individual. We would talk about her books and how much they mean to me. Also, I think we would talk about what was going through her mind when she created these novel characters. We would probably go to a restaurant of her choice. Meeting Ann Brashares would be a dream come true.

If I were able to have lunch with any person from the past or present, I'd pick Laura Ingalls. I'd pick her because I would like to learn more about her and actually see her in person! The place I think she would love to go to lunch at would be Soup Plantation! There we'd eat salad, soup, pasta but best of all, for dessert, we'd get ice cream! While we are there we would talk about her adventure through the woods and what she felt in the middle of the difficult trail. I could really learn from what she has to say to me. She could also give me advice on how to survive the wilderness! We would have a wonderful time learning about each other!

I would like to have lunch with Tom Brady. I would go to lunch at Pizza Hut. We would have two boxes of pizza. I would talk about his career and his football team. Also, I would ask him how many records he broke. I chose him because he is a good football player and I could learn from him teaching me.

If I could have lunch with anyone from history it would be none other than our first president himself, George Washington. I would choose George for a lunch date so that I could ask him some historical questions that the world doesn't know the answers to. I would love to ask him whether he played any sports. I love to play sports and I'm curious if he did, too. I would take him to the Olive Garden where we would order ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese and other yummy ingredients. I'd be proud if I could really have lunch with our country's first father, George Washington. I hope he likes Italian food!

I would want to have lunch with Alicia Keyes because she is a good piano player and I want to learn how to play. I would talk to her about how she was when she just started singing and playing.

If I could meet someone from the past it would be Rachel Carson. It would be her because I want to know why she loved nature. If she never tried Taco Bell, I would ask my mom if she could take us there. I think she would like the quesadilla or the taco that has veggies inside.

If I could have lunch with anyone I would want it to be Rob Blake from Kings hockey. We would go to his favorite restaurant. I would eat a hamburger with a slice of tomato. I would ask him if I can have a hockey stick and a super close ticket. I would ask him lots of questions. I would ask what he liked to eat. I would give him a quiz to see if he knows everyone on the team. I would ask him if he liked animals and what his favorite color is. I would ask so many questions because I love the Kings.

If I could have lunch with anyone past or present it would be Paul McCartney because The Beatles were very much an inspiration for many bands today and because The Beatles are one of my favorite bands. I would have lunch with Paul in London because London is one of the places where The Beatles first started to get big. We would talk about the difference between how music affected people when he was with The Beatles in the 1960s and now in the 2000s how it affects people. We would also talk about how much he thinks his band was an inspiration to current bands and if he still likes the music he made with The Beatles.

If I could have lunch with a famous person, I would like to have lunch with Paul McCartney. We would go to Sansui. We'll talk about the Beatles music. I'll tell him I play some of his songs on the piano. We will have sushi and teriyaki chicken. I would pay the bill.

If I would be able to have lunch with anyone it would be Benazir Bhutto. She is a woman I admire because she was a strong woman and was the first woman prime minister of Pakistan. We would have lunch at the finest hotel in Islamabad so I could absorb the culture. We would discuss her past, her family of political leaders and her feelings about women's rights in a country like Pakistan.

If I had the opportunity to eat lunch with anyone in the world, I would choose Andy Goldsworthy. Andy Goldsworthy is an amazing artist who makes his work out of nature. I really feel that I would have a lot in common with him because I love art as much as he does. If I could eat anywhere I would eat at an Italian restaurant because I love Italian food almost as much as my passion for art. I would love to talk to him about how he feels when he does his work and where does he get his inspiration for it. I really hope that I would get the opportunity to do so in the near future and maybe it will come true.

I would like to have lunch with Roger Clemens if I could have lunch with anyone because he is my favorite pitcher. I would go to Subway with him and we would order big sandwiches and we would mostly talk about baseball and pitching.

If I could have lunch with a famous person it would be Kimmy Meiner. I think she is ia great ice skater. I really want to be able to skate like her and also be like her. We would want to go to a sushi place. We would also talk about ice skating and how Kimmy Meisner learned.
