Are you aware of the astounding statistic that this is the first generation that will not outlive their parents if something is not done about obesity now? The number of obese and inactive children in Glendale is growing annually while funding for physical education in schools is diminishing. The YMCA wants to change this.
A collaboration of organizations supporting the YMCA is providing resources for the New You program which begins next month.
If your child is between the ages of 8-17 and you would like to learn about living a healthy lifestyle, then this is the program for you.
We have customized a six-week program to teach about eating right, age-appropriate exercise, family activities and much more. There will be a parent information meeting on Saturday, March 17 at 10 a.m. at the YMCA at 140 N. Louise St., Glendale.
Bring your child and hear how they can find new energy, and appreciate themselves more. For questions, contact
Helena Danni
at the YMCA at (818) 240-4130, ext. 43.
